Wyoming Speaker of the House Chip Neiman has endorsed Chuck Gray in his run for the United States House of Representatives.
Gray, the current Wyoming Secretary of State, declared his candidacy for the federal office on December 29, 2025 shortly after U.S. Representative Harriet Hageman announced her intent to run for the U.S. Senate.
Elected Wyoming Secretary of State in the 2022 election, Gray also served 3 terms in the Wyoming House of Representatives.
In his endorsement, Speaker Neiman said,
"I'm proud to endorse Chuck Gray for Congress. Secretary Gray is a proven conservative
fighter who has stood and will continue to stand for the people of Wyoming. I've worked with Chuck on many issues, including school choice, property tax relief, and election integrity, and he has shown his track record of effective conservative leadership time and time again. He has my complete and total support."
Recently, legislative endorsements have been piling up for Gray with former Rep Mark Jennings of Sheridan and Reps Ann Lucas of Cheyenne and Tony Locke from Casper.
As Secretary of State, Gray has been much more active legislatively than any of his recent predecessors focusing heavily on shoring up Wyoming’s election code. Two of his more important efforts have been the ban on crossover voting in 2023 and implementation of residency requirements to vote in 2025; both of which became law without Governor Gordon’s signature. Wyoming’s first real voter ID bill, House Bill 75, was sponsored by then Representative Gray in 2021.
Gray was the first to announce his candidacy in a field that has now become crowded. Former Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow who abandoned her post to take the top education job in Virginia is running; as is political newcomer David Giralt and Reid Rasner who was handily beaten by Senator John Barrasso in the 2024 election.
