Today, The Open Range Record is pleased to announce our Apple iOS App is available for download.
From the very beginning of our company, our goal has been to provide a seamless experience for viewers across multiple different platforms. To be blunt, our goal was to show the establishment Wyoming media what delivering news is supposed to look like. Today, we have accomplished that.
To our knowledge, we are the first media company in Wyoming to provide users with a state of the art website and a responsive Android and iOS experience; and, to do all of it at no cost to the user.
Nearly all media outlets in Wyoming charge users to read the content that they produce. There are newspapers that charge $1.00 to read a single article online--the same price as buying a paper copy of their publication. That's ridiculous. Maybe if they produced writing that Wyoming Citizens actually wanted to read, they wouldn't have to scrape every possible penny from their readers.
If you haven't noticed, we set out to bring you Wyoming voices that never would have been published by the mainstream press. We don't believe that a journalism degree is a requirement to tell the stories that affect the lives of Wyoming and Mountain West Citizens. We are very, very proud of the staff we have assembled and their dedication to bringing you the news the way it is supposed to be.
We aren't saying that in the future we won't provide premium content available by subscription. But the core of our service to you will remain as it is today. What's valuable to us is the news and providing it to you.
