While watching the “much ado about nothing” fever regarding campaign donations to legislators that has recently been in the Wyoming news, I realized the people who broke this story were two Democrat legislators from Democrat dominated legislative districts. It appears both broke the House rules governing ethics complaints.
This is not the first time Miss Provenza has targeted Republicans. Remember her “Auntie Fae” meme. Memes like the one she put out in 2023 encourage political violence of the sort that got Charlie Kirk assassinated. Mike Yin the other Democrat involved, who is rumored to live with his husband over in Jackson, is the minority floor leader. He should have been well aware of the house rules governing ethics complaints.
The Sheriff of Laramie County hopped on the opportunity to politically exploit their complaint and publicly announced an investigation. The Governor, knowing that there are no laws barring political campaign contributions on state lands suddenly feels compelled to issue an executive order forbidding them. All of these actions were taken to deaden the impact and effectiveness of the Wyoming Freedom Caucus. No one, as of yet, has pointed out any particular statute that has been violated. People have complained that campaign contributions were handed out on the House floor when the legislature was in adjournment. No one has demonstrated that that particular action is illegal.
These liberals are using the same tactics that they used against Trump! Make accusations, trigger investigations, let the press run wild with it, pontificate, disrupt, ignore the rules, generally do anything and everything to stop the effectiveness of the conservatives.
Giving Wyoming citizens tax breaks is just a step too far. Cutting funding to U.W. or any of the other big government institutions is more than they can take. If they can’t muster the vote to stop them, then the next best thing is to defame them.
My resolve, to continue to work for tax cuts and limited government by supporting leaders like House Speaker Nieman and his legislative allies, is stronger than ever. I will continue to support the platform planks of the Republican Party and its common-sense public policy stances. This whole episode reminded me that I need to get a campaign contribution made to Chip's Campaign Committee. I appreciate every person who supports the Republican Party Platform.
