Gillette, Wyoming – May 9, 2026 – Earl Collier, a lifelong Wyomingite, husband, father, and land surveyor, today announced his candidacy for the Wyoming House of Representatives, District 3, in the 2026 election.
“I am running for Wyoming House District 3 because I refuse to sit on the sidelines while our freedoms are slowly eroded and our children’s future is put at risk,” said Collier. “When I look at the world we are poised to hand our kids, I am reminded of the words attributed to Edmund Burke: ‘For evil to flourish, it only requires good men to do nothing.’ I cannot tell my children I am a good man if I do nothing. That is why I am stepping up.”
A proud husband and father of three, Collier says his decision is driven by a deep love for Wyoming and a desire to preserve the state’s values for the next generation.
“The Wyoming I grew up loving — wide-open spaces, strong families, honest work, and real liberty — is under threat,” Collier continued. “I want my children, and every child in District 3, to inherit a state rooted in Faith, Family, and Freedom. If the voters share my values, I humbly ask them to stand with me.”
If elected, Collier’s priorities include:
- Education: Fight for genuine school choice, keep woke ideology out of classrooms, ensure parents — not bureaucrats — control their children’s education, and extend these principles to Wyoming’s colleges and UW.
- Second Amendment: Build on the strong work of Rep. Abby Angelos to protect and strengthen our God-given right to keep and bear arms.
- Unapologetically Pro-life: Committed to the relentless protection of the unborn. Our activist courts are thwarting the will of the legislature and public. He will make judicial reform a priority to protect life.
- Energy & Economy: 100% pro-oil, gas, and mining — the industries that built Wyoming — while opposing unreliable “woke wind” projects that threaten land, viewsheds, and energy reliability.
- Property Taxes: Aggressively control property taxes so hardworking families are not priced out of their own homes.
- Election Integrity: Strengthen election security, ensure only eligible citizens vote, ban ballot harvesting and drop boxes, and restore full public confidence.
- Fiscal Responsibility: Demand spending restraint so the government does not grow faster than Wyoming families’ paychecks.
- Government Transparency & Accountability: Increase openness and hold elected officials truly accountable to the people.
Collier was born in Cody and raised near Sundance in the Black Hills. He graduated from Sundance High School, earned degrees from Sheridan College and the University of Wyoming, and married his high school sweetheart, Chelsie. The couple has three children. For the past decade, he has worked as a land surveyor across Wyoming, partnering with ranchers, miners, and infrastructure developers. He and his family bought their first home in Gillette and enjoy camping and riding ATVs in the Bighorns.
“I believe our representatives should be everyday working people — not career politicians,” Collier said. “If sent to Cheyenne, I will fight every day for the values and opportunities that make Wyoming the best state in America.”
Collier is seeking the Republican nomination in the August 18, 2026 primary.
