This last session, I co-sponsored HJ-0003. This resolution would have done only one thing: amend the constitution (this itself would require a vote of the people to pass) to “require an affirmative vote of the people of the state before any high-level radioactive waste or spent nuclear fuel can be stored in Wyoming.”
In short, ask the people if they want to be asked before we become a dumping ground for nuclear waste. Rather than make such a decision for the people, I wanted to ask their opinion first. Plain and simple. I urge you to read the resolution for yourself.
In a recent mailer, AFP has construed this to mean that I am "Wrong on Energy." That I "support legislation that would drive up energy costs." That I "back burdensome regulations that destroy energy jobs." And most offensively, that I "stand with bureaucrats over families."
This, friends and neighbors, is exactly the kind of BS you need to beware of. Please, do your homework, then get out and vote.
