Each year in Cody, around 150 students graduate from high school. 150 young souls, eager to walk across the stage with a diploma in hand and do their part to help change the world. Imagine if for three years in a row, Sweitzer Gym were empty – no caps tossed, no memories to cherish, no accomplishments to honor.
In 2025, three Cody High School graduating classes’ worth of babies had their
lives ended by abortion in Wyoming. According to the 2025 Wyoming Department of
Health abortion report, these 448 lives were ended through chemicals, suction,
or dilation & evacuation abortion methods.
In a chemical abortion, a series of pills starve and kill the baby. In a
suction abortion, the baby is violently vacuumed from the womb. In a dilation
& evacuation abortion, the baby is dismembered in the womb and extracted
limb from limb with instruments.
Under Wyoming law, the intentional destruction of an eagle egg is criminalized.
At the same time, ending the life of an unborn child has been deemed by
activist judges to be a constitutional right – depending on the circumstances. Our
fetal homicide laws allow for charges relating to the death of an unborn child
if a pregnant mother is killed in an accident.
These laws rightly recognize the humanity of unborn babies who, from the moment
of conception have unique DNA determining gender, hair color, eye color and
more; who, at 9 weeks begin sucking their thumbs; who at 3 years old or 10
years old or 70 years old are the same person they were in the womb.
The mental gymnastics used to justify the legalization of abortion in Wyoming isn’t just frustrating to the pro-life community – it has deadly consequences. Abortion is the intentional act of ending the life of an unborn baby. It’s a scientific fact that unborn babies are members of the human race. Join me in helping create a culture of life in Wyoming.
Let’s summon the love to protect our children. First baby steps, birthdays, and haircuts should be milestones to celebrate, not moments prevented by circumstances we have the power to change.
